Did Schools in the UK Cut Lessons About the Holocaust?

As a testament to the staying power of Islamophobic disinformation online, a chain email that originally targeted readers in the United Kingdom was later adapted for American readers.

The email read in part:

This week, the UK removed The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it ‘offended’ the Muslim population which claims it never occurred.

This is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving into it.

It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended.

In reality no such “removal” ocurred, and the use of the “UK” acronym would later allow the University of Kentucky to be (wrongfully) identified in other versions of the copypasta, as we reported here.
