The
Truth According to Lifetime TV, this is true. A petition was circulated
by Lifetime in 1996, but the Breast Cancer Protection Act never came
to vote. The measure has been reintroduced b y U.S.

from having to leaving the hospital after a mastectomy before they
are ready.

There's a proposed bill called the Breast Cancer Patient Protection
Act. This act will require insurance companies to cover a minimum
48-hour hospital stay for any patient undergoing a mastectomy. This
act would eliminate the current "drive-through mastectomy" procedure
where women are forced to go home hours after surgery - still groggy
from anesthesia and sometimes with drainage tubes still attached -
against the wishes of their doctor..
Lifetime Television has put this proposed bill on their web page with
a petition drive so you can demonstrate your support. Last year,
more than 50% of the Congressional House signed on.
PLEASE, sign the petition and help women living with breast cancer
get the care they need and deserve!!
