Summary of the eRumor
A sequence of pictures of
a space shuttle exploding in space said to have been from an Israeli
satellite that caught the shuttle Columbia breaking apart.
The Truth
Anybody who has seen the space
thriller film ARMAGEDDON will recognize these as sequences of the
space shuttle Atlantis losing an encounter with asteroids.
They are not authentic pictures from space and are not of the space
shuttle Columbia, which broke apart upon re-entry into the earth's
atmosphere on 2/1/03, killing all seven astronauts on
board.
