The AOL Instant Messaging Flashing "IM" is a Virus -Fiction!

bulletSummary of eRumor:
This is a short message which says to immediately delete a flashing "IM" (Instant Messaging).  It claims that it's a "password stealer" and that if after discovering it, you can't sign on to AOL, you should call AOL.
bulletThe Truth:
This is a hoax.  The flashing IM is not a virus, it's a part of the Instant Messaging design.
A real example of the story as it has been circulated:

If you get a Flashing IM, DO NOT reply or delete, but sign off immediately

and re-sign on! Then change your password immediately. If you are unable to

sign on, call AOL !!! The number is 1-800-827-6364

The Flashing IM is a password stealer. This has been confirmed by AOL.

PLEASE FORWARD TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW WHO HAS AOL!!
