The Truth
Little Griffin did not make it. This happened during the first part of August, 2001. Griffin was on life support, but tests showed that the lack of oxygen to his brain had left him in a vegetative state. He died shortly afterwards. TruthOrFiction.com talked with the father, Ken Middleton, who said Griffin was 5 months old and his and Kim's only child. They appreciate everybody's care, concern, and prayers and Ken said that was especially true of the people in their community.

Hello my buddies, I must ask that you help me get a PRAYER CHAIN started.

Many of you may know or have heard of Kim Middleton of "Kim's Ragpatch" in Rural Hall, NC and she now has another store opened in Kernersville.

Well she has a baby boy who was born in Feb. and is almost 6 months old.

Yesterday around 2:00 the daddy was going to give the baby some medicine with a syringe and left the cap on the syringe which got lodged in the baby's throat, the daddy could see the cap and tried to remove it but that just pushed it further down his airway. By the time he got here to Baptist, the syringe cap had moved down to his lung. They had to do surgery to remove it. However now the child is in ICU at Brenner's not expected to live because his brain is swelling from lack the of oxygen.   A secretary here in my office lives in Rural Hall and is very very close to this family. She visited them about 30 minutes ago and said it is devastating. The mother Kim, said the doctors stated that it would take a miracle for this baby to pull through this. I will not even comment on what condition the father is in. This is just a terrible, freak accident.

The baby's name is GRIFFIN MIDDLETON! I know I can count on my buddies to pray for this family. Me being a mother and many of you also, we can not even begin to put ourselves in this family's shoes.   Thanks so much and I will keep you posted, Love ya, Anita
