Child Trafficking Camp in Tucson Tied to Clinton Foundation-Fiction!

Summary of eRumor:

An abandoned child trafficking camp in Tucson has been tied to the Clinton Foundation.

The Truth:

An abandoned camp was found along the U.S.-Mexico border in early June 2018. But authorities have denied claims that it was used for child trafficking, or as part of a child sex ring. And attempts to connect the camp to the Clinton Foundation to check out.
Veterans on Patrol, a group that seeks out and helps homeless veterans, reported finding the camp on a property owned by cement manufacturer Cemex. Members of the group posted  series of videos of the encampment on YouTube. The videos focus on an underground “cave,” that contains a large ‘water container” that’s only big enough for a child to enter. Inside, were a dress and two crates, Tucson News Now reports.
One of the men who made the discovery, a former Navy Seal named Craig Sawyer who is reportedly making a documentary about child sex trafficking, made the rounds on local media. These appearances reported that the camp could have “possibly” been used in child sex trafficking, fueling the rumors. They pointed to items found there like discarded toys, hair brushes, and an empty box of Lucky Charms cereal as proof.
The abandoned camp is undeniably creepy. But the Tucson Police Department concluded that it’s just an abandoned homeless encampment and “there is no indication this camp is being used for any type of criminal activity, including human trafficking.”

But once the conspiracy was set into motion, there was no turning back. Fringe websites quickly worked to connect the alleged “child sex camp” to the Clinton Foundation through CEMEX, the owner of the property. And it’s true that CEMEX has partnered with the Clinton Foundation over the years. In 2014, CEMEX pledged support to Project Concern International to provide lower-cost housing loans in Guatemala, Mexico and Zambia. In 2013, CEMEX joined efforts to bolster youth employment in 10 Latin countries. CEMEX has also supported the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, which was launched in 2010 by Hillary Clinton while she served as secretary of state.
But again, there’s no evidence that the homeless encampment on the CEMEX property had anything to do with child sex trafficking. There’s also no indication that CEMEX owners new about the encampment, or that the Clintons had anything to do with it.Given all that, we’re calling this one “fiction.”
