On February 4 2021, social media rumors began spreading about American Express (AmEx)’s Rose Gold version of its Gold charge card — namely that the long-coveted variant of the Gold Card in Rose Gold had returned:

In March and August 2019, American Express’ @AskAmex account advised cardholders that there was no current information on its return:
On February 4 2021, it looked as if @AskAmex was taken off guard by the sudden reappearance of the Rose Gold card. In response to a user tweet, @AskAmex initially did not confirm that the Rose Gold card had been reintroduced:
In a second tweet, @AskAmex apologized and affirmed the card was once again available:
In the initial Twitter query, the account to whom @AskAmex was responding cited a post from the official @AmericanExpress Instagram account, which indicated the Rose Gold card was “here to stay”:

American Express also issued a press release about the Rose Gold card.
Many American Express Gold Card holders were interested in the Rose Gold version of AmEx’s Gold Card, and @AskAmex initially demurred when asked about when or if the iteration would be available as of February 4 2021. However, @AskAmex later responded to clarify that the Rose Gold card was available, and advised interested cardholders to contact AmEx via the number on the back of their card to swap their regular Gold Cards out for Rose Gold variations.
