9th Circuit Court of Appeals Legalizes Sharia Law in United States-Fiction!

Summary of eRumor:

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has legalized Sharia Law in the United States in a landmark decision.

The Truth:

A website that describes its content as “fiction” is behind false reports that the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals legalized Sharia Law in the Untied States.
The story appeared at the website Reagan Was Right on November 28, 2017.  Under the fictitious ruling,   an individual’s religion could not be “discounted as a matter of law if that person’s religion is their law.” That supposedly means a man could legally execute his wife for committing adultery, if his religious laws allowed it.
The report, however, is a complete fabrication. The website’s disclaimer states that, “Everything on this website is fiction. It is not a lie and it is not fake news because it is not real. If you believe that it is real, you should have your head examined.” But taken out of context on social media, the website’s content is frequently mistaken for factual news.
And this particular fictitious report led to follow-up reports that were also fictitious. In one that appeared at Last Line of Defense, the U.S. Supreme Court supposedly overturned the 9th Circuit’s decision legalizing Sharia Law.
Both Reagan Was Right and Last Line of Defense are operated by the same administrator. Both websites are described as a satirical fiction. That means content that appears there shouldn’t be considered trustworthy.
