Forward An Email to Avoid Being The Victim of Hackers Targeting MSN–Fiction!
Summary of eRumor:
The email claims to be from a bunch of disgruntled MSN users who have become hackers (computer hobbyists who try to break into websites). They claim to be able to collect names from emails that are sent over the Internet and put them on what they call their “hackers list.” If you send out their email ten times, they will remove your name from their list….but only if you do it within 45 minutes of opening it.
This is a poorly-constructed hoax. There is no evidence of this group and even if there was, no one would benefit from your forwarded emails. There isn’t any device or system that tracks emails that are forwarded from person to person.
