The story, which appears under the headline “Obama Signs Executive Order Banning The Pledge of Allegiance in Schools Nationwide,” reports that with the president’s signage of Executive Order 13738, it’s now illegal for any federally-funded organization (including schools, apparently) to recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
But in reality, there is no such thing as Executive Order 13738. All of the executive orders that Obama has signed can be viewed here, at the official White House website. Nothing pertaining to the Pledge of Allegiance can be found there.
Fringe websites like Above Top Secret re-reported the story as actual news, incorrectly attributing the report to the Associated Press, but rest assured that there’s not truth to this rumor.
