Rich Buhler is the founder of TruthorFiction and was a broadcaster, speaker, author, broadcast journalist, and producer who researched and wrote about rumors and urban legends for more than 30 years. Because of both his knowledge about what he terms “eRumors” and his broadcast background, Rich was a popular guest on radio and television and has appeared on national and international outlets including on CNN, MSNBC, NBC, Fox News, BBC, CBC, as well as local television and radio stations from Maryland to California. He has also either written, or been featured in, numerous newspaper and magazine articles. Rich operated TruthOrFiction.com until his death from pancreatic cancer in May of 2012, his family wrote and operated truthorfiction.com on his behalf until late 2018 and are still owners of the site.

Nun Sues Krishna-Unproven!

This is a rumor alleging that a Catholic nun in Warsaw, Poland filed a lawsuit against the International Society for Krishna Consciousness because they follow Krishna who the nun said “had loose morals” because he had 16,000 wives. The rumor goes on to say that the case was dropped by the judge because millions of nuns were alleged to be married to Jesus.

In May 2014, President Obama announced that he was gong to exchange 5 prisoners from the U.S. facility at Guantanamo Bay for U.S. Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl who has been held captive by the Taliban for the past five years. An alleged photo of one of the Guantanamo Bay prisoners, Mohammad Fazi, went viral on the Web that showed him sitting behind 5 severed heads while holding a bloody knife.

Medicare Patients Pay "Under Observation" Expenses-Truth!

This is a forwarded email that alleges that a change in policy for Medicare patients could end up costing them lots of money. It warns that if they are admitted into a hospital to insist on “In-Patient” designation. If the Medicare patients are designated as “Under Observation” they will not be covered by Medicare and end up having to have to pay the hospital expenses.
