Rich Buhler is the founder of TruthorFiction and was a broadcaster, speaker, author, broadcast journalist, and producer who researched and wrote about rumors and urban legends for more than 30 years. Because of both his knowledge about what he terms “eRumors” and his broadcast background, Rich was a popular guest on radio and television and has appeared on national and international outlets including on CNN, MSNBC, NBC, Fox News, BBC, CBC, as well as local television and radio stations from Maryland to California. He has also either written, or been featured in, numerous newspaper and magazine articles. Rich operated TruthOrFiction.com until his death from pancreatic cancer in May of 2012, his family wrote and operated truthorfiction.com on his behalf until late 2018 and are still owners of the site.

This is a forwarded email of an alleged eyewitness account of a transaction by a customer with an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card at Publix Store on Main Street in Gainesville, Florida. The email said that the eyewitness was standing behind the customer in line at the check out counter who purchased a single grape for 2 cents and asked for $24 in change back from the EBT transaction.

This is a forwarded warning of a DNS Changer Trojan, a computer virus, that hijacks computers when users surf the Internet. DNS stands for Domain Name System, which is the means used by computers to communicate along the Internet. The warning goes on to say that any computers that are infected with this virus will be blocked from the Internet by the U.S. Government. Some warnings include a link for readers to check their computers to see if they were affected.
